In 2010 Mr. Chisholm
met David McGuinty, M.P., and talked with him about raising some questions with
certain people in the federal government.
As a result, on
September 20th 2010 David McGuinty wrote
to then-Minister for Industry Tony Clement about Mr. Chisholm’s unease and
concerns over the way things were being done, enclosing Mr. Chisholm's list of questions and concerns.
In the latter
document the important parts are shown in red font. (In the original that was sent out, these were
in black font)
Mr. Chisholm and
David McGuinty M.P. had a reply from Tony Clement
dated December 22nd 2010.
Mr. Chisholm told
David McGuinty at the time that he thought it was un-clear because it did not
answer some key questions.
It did not, for
instance, explain the basis for assuming that some people had actually “…ceased
looking for work for various reasons” -
and allowing the media to report just this or something similar, without
any comment. Mr. Chisholm’s own analysis of what Tony Clement said is HERE.
These were
serious questions – and they did not get specific and serious answers.
